The Clara Harp and Shamrock Band was in formation for many years in Clara, playing at all local events, participating in St. Patrick’s Day parades around Ireland and as far as New York. Following the retirement of the band master the group found themselves at a loss until Keith Kelly from the Band of the 4th Western Brigade, Athlone took on the role as band master in early 2006. Keith Kelly was a member of the Artane Boys band for many years and later became a tutor for the band.
