Birdwoman, O'Father (LIVE)

Date: Oct 2016
Duration: 3:17
View Count: 277

We set up a little music cave, lit some candles, and recorded some beautiful live videos. O’Father is an ethereal folk song about the loss of her father and feeling his presence around after he had passed.. Our loved ones never leave us. Taken from Birdwomans’ forthcoming debut album “And Then The Day Came” out 2017.
A live video by Gheri. With Orla Reddy on Cello. Special thanks to Claire Lennon.

LYRICS:
O’ FATHER © kelliemariereynolds2016

There’s this ghost of a man I know
Tells me to let go
And be brilliant as he knows that I can be
I tried to suppress my grief
To save face for sanity
But he came one night to show his love was still real

O’ Father
Was that you?
When I had my guard down did you enter the room?
The room

His hands became my hands
Tried to reach out to touch and mend
All those broken hearts
Of wives sons daughters sisters
I cried with my eyes closed
Tears streaming down my face oh is this the holy ghost
And for a moment, I was temporarily healed

O’ Father
Was that you?
When I had my guard down did you enter the room?
The rooooom Oohh…..

O Father was that you.
O Father was that you
Was that you
Was that you
